TESTIMONIES

All of our pups are checked by a vet prior to leaving and deemed to be healthy.

We would love nothing more than to tell you that the puppy you choose will live a long, full life without illness, and pass on peacefully of old age.  Many Shar-Pei do, but not all.   A small percent will suffer from one or more medical/hereditary problems throughout their lifetime, including the fatal kidney disease, Amyloidosis, which usually does not strike until 5-7 years of age. It is the number 2 health issue with Shar-Pei  second only to Cancer, which is the number one killer of all breeds. EVERY breeder of Shar-Pei dreads hearing of Amyloidosis in their lines, but it is in EVERY line of Shar-Pei, there are no clean lines.

Please be sure to ask the breeder about Amyloidosis before you purchase a Shar-Pei.

If you have a breeder that tells you 'it is not in their lines', they are not being honest.

Just know that as a breeder, I breed the healthiest dogs that I can, but that is not a guarantee of a long lived pet, once in a while sadly (as in human children) something happens to shorten their lives.

We will, with Vet. certification replace your puppy if it should die of something hereditary before 2 years of age. This cannot take away your pain, but hopefully will give you a new bundle to love again.

Sue, Here are some photos I took today of Joey. Saturday, Oct. 31st. will be one year. We will never forget driving up to Washington, Dc. that day. The anticipation just about killed us. When they brought the carrier out at the freight area and I looked through the grill of the kennel door I saw those little brown eyes surrounded by folds of black velvet. He was perfect! When I was finally able too take him out of the kennel he was so calm. It was as if he was saying, "Okay, I am here. Lets go home." What a wonderful decision we made to get another Sharpei and to wait for the right one paid off. Joey is our boy. There is not a day he does not make me chuckle and Bella has gained such a wonderful companion in Joey.

Thank you again for breeding such wonderful dogs. You can have a beautiful Sharpei but if you cannot enjoy them, take them walking, meet other dogs, greet people, which we can do with ours, then you may as well have a statue of a Sharpeiand put it on your mantle. When these dogs have the good temperment that you clearly make an effort to breed...well, they are just a slice of heaven.

Hi Sue.  ..we are all doing VERY WELL!!!!!  A certain little girl is doing exceptional...we have soooo many toys- that she's in heaven.  We all are in L O V E  with her..that is except Bailley, but she is warming up slowly!!!  Jasper actually has a smile on his face...he has licked her entire body over several times and the two  have been playing and horsing around lots!!!  This morning Jasper was chewing on a nylabone...she came over  and charmed it away from him...without him growling!!!   What a wiley little girl!!   She can carry those large souper bones around-she is strong!!      She is eating drinking peeing and pooping...the later 2 have all been outside.  She slept through the night...on our bed!!!  She is following me around...if I am moving she is moving with me.  She goes up our stairs in a flash, but she is very leary about coming down-so I have been carrying her!!!  She is curious about EVERYTHING!!!   She is SOOOO CUTE and SWEET!!!!  We are in LOVE!!!!  Aimee came over after work last night to meet and love on her...Ryan is coming over soon,  minus infected whoodle _ yea!!!    I have a select list of people that I think the world of...you are on the top of that list.  I am soooo touched by your love and dedication to your peis.  You are truely SPECIAL PEOPLE and I am honored and priviliged to have you and your pups in our lives.  I am thrilled that I was able to meet you both and spend time with you...that was really special.  It puts real people with the voices I've been talking to over the years.  Meeting you reinforced the feelings I already had!!!

Thank-you so very much for sharing the love you have for your pei pups with us!!!  Our lives have been enriched because of it.   With Love and Admiration, Cathy

P.S.   As far as I am concerned Chantilly has 3 MOMs...her birth Mom-Katie, Sue Anderson, and now me.  She is the sum of all who have loved her...starting with you...if she didn't have soooo much love from you, she would not be Chantilly...she seriously squirmed and wined when you walked away...she knew...you are in her heart and for that I am forever greatfull...and I have tears in my eyes as I think of that...happy tears...

Sue, just an update...  We got home safe and the puppy is doing great!  We finally settled on a name OTIS!  He is the hit of the family, People won't stop hugging him!  He totally loves Chloe, our St. Bernard, and she seems to like him too!  He is in love with the backyard, and all the grass, he has found a small dip in the terrain that is cool and cozy, that's where I can always find him!  We went to the vet this am and the Dr. was quite impressed with him, and you!  Great Dog, he must have said it 20 times!  He has heard of you!  I'll send you some pics when I can,  and keep you posted......We love this dog!!!!!!  Carol

Winston did great last night.  He's just like a little baby.  I got up at 4:00 AM to walk him.  He is doing just fine with the rabbit.  The rabbit is still territorial and will actually come up nose to nose with Winston.  They are doing well together though.  He is also doing great at going out and doing his business.
Thanks so much for giving us this precious one.

I looked at the website and saw the new puppies.  They are absolutely beautiful.  I told Jimmy we needed another, but he did not agree.  I love the puppy in the third picture on the bottom.
We are so in love with Brie and Bentley.  They are absolutely wonderful.  Everyone is impressed by the way they look and behave.  You and your husband have done an amazing job in breeding these dogs.  My previous baby that I got from you in 1995, Mink, was the same way.  I was devastated when I lost Mink in 2003 and, once I buried him with my father in my father’s casket in May of this year, I knew it was time to contact you again.    We are so blessed to own two more babies from you.
We dropped off the babies this am to be bathed.  I could not go in the back and leave them, so I made Jimmy take them back, as it always makes me cry to walk away from them.  They are truly my pride and joy.
Thanks again for these wonderful babies!!!

Sue:
Well he has been to the vet today and received his shot.  Dr. Scott Rapp has been our vet for the past 16 years and knows Shar Pei's well.  He said that Tai's eyes were extremely good.  All in all he is in great health.  Weighs in at 24.5lbs.  Yes he is eating well.
He is scheduled for next month to be neutered and get his microchip put in.
He is an extremely smart little guy,  We have been working on hand commands already and he does know to sit when the finger is next to the nose, to lay down when we pat the floor - walks just great with his harness on.  Neighbors have said that he has an aristocratic walk - he walks like he owns the neighborhood.  or at least he owns us.
Thank you so much - he is beautiful and very intelligent.

 Robert and Kathy Bristow

Just had to let you know how well Tucker is doing.  He has been given free roam of the house when we leave for short periods of time (1-2 hours) and is doing AWESOME.  Absolutely no issues at all.  It is pretty incredible for a 6 month old pup I think.  He also had a bath today and was PERFECT.  He stood there in the tub wagging his tail loving every minute.  I was amazed.  He has also mastered sit, come, lay, stay, give 5 and speak.  He is genius!  He is very well socialized and loves ALL people.   Last Wednesday he went to Gabe's softball game with us and was a hit.  I give your name to everyone who asks about him or Oliver.

Kim

Dear Sue and Roy. I just wanted to take a moment to wish the both of you a holiday wish. Although no other dog could ever replace my beloved Tatiana, my new Genji has opened the next chapter in my life and I believe blessed my holiday season. We had our first mini snowfall early today and it made the air feel magical. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for breeding such beautiful shar PEI, Greg Plavan, Chicago

Sue,
I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS DOG!  He is the cutest thing I have ever seen in my life.  My husband and I are getting so my JOY out of him and Cosmo, his big brother, sleeps with him and kisses and play with him all the time.  Thank you so much for breeding such wonderful dogs.  We are so lucky to have this little guy.  Have you figured out a way to make them stop growing…  Benjamin said stop feeding him, but that’s probably not a good idea.
Attached are some pics.  He’s such a wonderful, magical character!
Just wanted to touch base and let you know that he is a little doll and one of the things everyone comments on is how sweet he is.  Hope you are well.
With love,Lisa Shield

Hi Sue. . .
Was thinking today how grateful we are to you and Roy for helping to bring our fabulous pups to us!!!
Millie and Lucy have celebrated their first birthdays in the last couple of months. . . and little Gracie isn't so little anymore.  All three have been spayed now and our vet adores them and understands them, as he did Beasley and Abbey before them.
We are so amazed at the love they have for each other, as well as us.  We had thought that having three might mean that they are more of a family of their own. . .but that is not the case.  They amuse each other while we are busy and then give us their full attention when our times frees up.  It does seem to really matter that we are self-employed and work from our home.

Again, our gratitude. . . Catherine and Douglas
Arrived safe & sound. Koda slept all the way home on the plane and didn't make a peep.  Everything went really well and he's doing great.  Very playful, eating & drinking lots.  He's very well mannered and snores like crazy.  He's really cuddly and likes to sleep with us, but usually has to be across your neck or somewhere on or near your face....the closer the better!!  He's soooooooooooo sweet!!!!
Talk to you soon!!
Sandy
LOVE her, LOVE her, LOVE her!!!!!!
She is surrounded by kids and loves every minute of it.  (My neighbors across the street have NINE kids!!)
She is doing great.  Pees and poops outside.  Slept all night in the big crate we got her and never made a peep until 7:00 this morning.  She is already completely attached to Jordan.  She stays on his heels.  She is napping right now......the kids wore her out.  She has had a total of 12 visitors already today.  Very well-behaved!!  We couldn't have asked for a better puppy.  Soooooooooo cute!!!!  Beautiful color.  The noises she makes really crack us up.  Havn't heard her bark yet, but the grunting and snorting is hilarious.
Thanks again for everything.  You guys have done a great job with her!!
 Will send pictures next week.
 Laura

Hi Sue:

Sorry I'm just now getting back to you.  We went to the ranch and just got back.
The vet visit went well.  No vaccines.  Perfectly healthy (as you know).  Will have her spayed at 5 months.  Will insert micro-chip at the same time.
Cargo loved the ranch!!!  She is so adaptable!!  She attracts soooooo much attention.  It's obvious that she was well taken care of.  She loves everybody!  She's doing just great.  She goes in the car every morning when I drop Jordan off at school.  She turned out PERFECT for our family and we are having so much fun just watching her!!!!
Will keep you updated.
Laura

Dear Sue,I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know how Bart ( thats his new name) is doing. He is just great. What an adorable little puppy. He has won the hearts of all my family. He loves to follow me around the house and yard and "help" in anything I am doing. Thanks for breeding such a good little fellow.
Sincerely,
Bob Sowers

Hi  sue,
Sophia is already well-adjusted. She loves Patsy and chases him around in circles.  She slept in her bed and was accident-free last night.  She's very happy. And we are overflowing with love and joy. She is adorable- adorable- adorable.
Pics to come.
Jessica
Dear Sue and Roy,
Happy Thanksgiving! We couldn't let this day go by without thanking YOU for Oliver. He is great and we love him so much. He is loving and smart. He has started Puppy Education classes and is pretty much Teacher's Pet. He is so willing to please and loves us every chance he gets. We get kisses and he lays in our lap or puts himself were he is touching us. He loves tummy rubs and ear rubs too. He is growing but still is small., soft as can be and loveable. He has a beautiful gate. His eyes are gorgous! He watches us all, loves walks, going in the car, to class, to the store, to the coffee shop. He get attention and gives it right back so he is loved by everyone. Thank you for such a great puppy. We will always miss Abbey. no one could replace her.  But, not a day goes by that we don't think what a good idea it was to get a pup. Someday in the future we are thinking we may want a brother or sis for Oliver. It would be great to have two of your wonderful dogs. Have a good holiday season. Fred, Kathi, Jennifer, and Brian (LOVE from Oliver too)

The kids are doing just fine! Mort weighs about 44 pounds and Mabel 34.They take turns being the "Alpha" although Mabel likes to be in charge.
The are both sweet tempered and very well socialized. The "doggie day care" that they go to when I go out of town has them playing with the "big kids" now. They love going there...The Animal Keeper....
I am so glad I found you on the internet. These are wonderful dogs and great friends.

Thanks, Sue.

Sue,
Just a quick update on how Rosie is doing. She knows her name and comes running when we call her. Last night we let her sleep with us and at 2 am she woke me up to let me know she needed to go outside to go potty, when she came back in she followed me back to the bedroom and snuggled against my chest and fell asleep and snored louder than I have ever heard any animal snore LOL..I fell asleep soon after. At 7 am she woke us up so we could pet her and play with her and after 30 minutes of play she went to the door and wanted to go out to go to the bathroom. She is so sweet and lovable. Today Mark and I will go to Petsmart to get her a harness and a matching leash. We will leave Rosie at home with our oldest who has asked if he can baby sit her. The boys are crazy about her!!
Thank you for letting us add her to our family!!

Hi Sue and Roy,
We just wanted to drop you a note to tell you how Chip and Clark are doing.  In case you don't remember Clark is a black brush coat that you origionally named Davis, (and just turned TWELVE by the way), and Chip is Fawn and was the runt of his litter, and turned out beautiful, (and just turned eleven!)  Both dogs were puppies of Sugarbear I believe.
They are both healthy and have been wonderful dogs.  We have three children now, and they absolutley adore the pups.  With Jamies job, we have moved quite frequently and Clark and Chip have come right along and have lived in Utah, Missouri, Florida, New York, and are getting ready to go to New Orleans, LA.
Hope you are doing well, and I'll keep you updated on the pups!

I LOVE HER!  I can't even believe how much I love her, I don't have the words to describe.  She has been SO unbelievably good tonight.  We went to Pet Smart to get fitted for a collar and the kids and other puppies loved her and she was kissing everyone.  She has not stopped licking me...she's very affectionate.  Not one peep from her while in her crate in the car.  She's getting used to the house. The only bad thing is that it's been pouring out and she hasn't wanted to go out in the rain (can you blame her?).  But she finally went poop and she's been sleeping like a baby on my lap for awhile.  This is MUCH better than I ever thought.  We'll see how she is through the night but I honestly think she's gonna be good.   I'll send pictures soon!
Julia

Hi Sue! Just thought I'd drop a note and let you know Gunnar is doing  great! He instantly moved right in, acts like he's lived here all his life. Not one single accident in the house either, he's such a good boy! And SO SMART!! He goes to the vet 5/25, they got the Proguard-5 in. Thank you again for such a wonderful boy!! Have a great day........Becky

Hi Sue!
Ch'in and I arrived here at Mom & Dad's house yesterday evening at 7:30 pm (6:30 pm Oregon time)... He had a good trip... He was totally relaxed during the entire drive - slept most of the way. I offered him the dry food first (three times during the trip), and he ate really well; drank plenty of water. He was really quick to wag his little tail and seek attention from me.
Once we got here, Ch'in made himself right at home! My parents other dog, Ch'u Tz'u, loves him... They are quickly learning to play together - Ch'u seems to understand how little Ch'in is and is careful with him. Ch'in doesn't hesitate to "pounce" at Ch'u (as long as he is standing under a big person). Ch'in checked out the whole house last night and is feeling very playful this morning! Ch'in is eating well (dry food), and his bowel movements have been normal. He slept with Dad last night, as he didn't want to sleep all alone in his bed. He has attached himself to my Dad - follows him everywhere!
Thank you, so very much!... You did a wonderful job raising him thus far - the care you take with the pups is evident. Ch'in is oh so adorable and has a wonderfully warm personality. He will love it here! My parents are in love with him already!!!  :O)
 Thanks!
Kimberly

Dear Sue and Roy:  Just a note to let you know our beautiful Sadie is no longer with us.  We are all just devastated and miss her so much.  Yesterday I had to have her put to sleep.  We loved her so much and she loved us.  I want you to know she was the most precious of animals, sweet, gentle, patient, loyal - the perfect dog.  She got glaucoma about four years ago and even though she eventually went blind, she was happy and healthy up until just the last year, when she went deaf and started having problems with her kidneys.
Fifteen and a half years of living with her leaves a large hole in our hearts.  If you ever get another puppy with the same disposition as our girl, please let us know. I am willing to bet you remember Sadie, a sable dilute coat with tiger stripes, beautiful brown eyes, but her coat was what attracted so much attention.  She was a most unusual color, just beautiful.  She liked to chase seagulls at the beach, sleep on the end of our bed, sunbathe, and ride in the car.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to share her long life.
Linda, Jon and Ben Daly

Sue, Millie has arrived, safe and sound, inquisitive and precious, perfect and most beautiful.  We are delighted and sincerely appreciate all you and Roy have done.
I haven't gotten a chance to review the papers, but will do so shortly.
She is beyond our expectations!
All our best, Douglas & Catherine

Hi Sue,

I apologize for not writing sooner, I think since I have had Rocky I haven't been on the internet much as he keeps me busy as he LOVES to play :) My husband and I both adore him and love when he greets us with his wagging tail!!! He seems to be happy and adjusting well, he even walks with me on a leash. Cisco (other dog)  and him seem to get along great too!

I will be sure to keep you updated!!!
Thanks for giving us more happiness in our lives as we can't look at his cute face and not smile!

 Stephanie

Morning Sue!!:

Just wanted to let you know that your little man is doing just fine.  We had a lovely Thanksgiving and of course gave thanks for our new addition.  He is getting big and doing just fine.

I had Scott take him for his rabies shot this past Saturday and he made out fine.  He also was intrested in our first snow storm on Friday.  They cancelled school and the storm went on all day.  It was terrible.  We had gone out when it was all  over and he was frolicking and going crazy over this white stuff.  He likes to eat it and run in it and it is hysterical to watch him.

The next morning we broke out the sleds and as we would slide down our hill in our yard he would run and chase us.  The kids love it.    He has also been allowed to sleep in his bed all night and he stays right with me.  He has been so good and everyone loves him.  He is the most beautiful boy and I can't express to you how happy we are with him.

Lea is starting to even like him.  When I work in the kitchen, she stays on her pillow and Ping has been trying to find a way to get on there with her.  Mostly she would move away.  Lately though, she has decided he can stay on part of the pillow and they have taken a few naps together and it's just so cute.

My vet keeps saying everytime he sees him how much he has grown and what a big boy he is going to be.  He has also been great about meeting family members and friends.  Right now when I am writing you he is just relaxing in his bed.  He is also still the most kissy dog ever!!!  That's okay we love that too.

Hope you have a wonderful Christmas.  We know that with our little guy here it will be the best ever.  By the way - he is so good, he never touched any of my Christmas decorations (and I have many), he just investigated them.  His favorite thing is the Christmas Cuckoo clock that makes christmas music every hour.  He runs out to look at it when it chimes.  What a Goof!!

Hope to hear from you !!! - Krissy

Hi Sue!

Gobi turns 7 tomorrow!  Where has the time gone?  She's doing just great!

We haven't gotten a good shot of her for her birthday picture, yet; so, I'll send that along soon.  That black face requires some work to get a good shot.

We have a new granddaughter and Gobi takes it as her personal responsibility to make sure the baby's hands and feet remain clean and moist.  I've never seen a dog that loves children the way Gobi does.  She still plays tennis ball with the same enthusiasm, if not quite the same endurance, as when she was a pup.  Nothing beats a good game of "Pig in the Middle" (Gobi playing Pig) with Mom and Dad.  Our love for her just continues to grow.

It was so nice to see her picture on your website.  Thank you.  Will forward her birthday picture shortly.

Elizabeth Robertson

Hi Sue
The puppy is adorable.  We all just love him and the kids play with him constantly.  We call him buster.  He loves to be held and is potty trained.  What an amazing pooch.  I'm so lucky that I found him from you.  He gets continual affection and we love him very much.  He sleeps on a blanket at the foot of our bed.  Thank you so much for such a sweetee of a dog.  He is the most spoiled dog in town!
Mike

Hi Sue,
I'm sorry it has taken me so long to write to you but I have been trying to get pictures on the computer. Not very easy for the technically challenged!
Livvy has been doing very well. She has done several obedience classes and most recently has done some agility training. She actually loves it and is pretty good! I always get lots of compliments on her and I've even given out your information to people that have asked about the breeder!
Hopefully the attached pictures come out okay.
The first picture is of her and a neighbor Bernese that she loves and always wants to kiss. The second is of her in the snow at Mt. Hood - she loved it!
We went camping at a cabin there for the weekend. She is a great hiker especially in the cold. The 3rd is me and Livvy with out best friends (Skylar went to obedience classes with us - she is a Siberian Husky and miniature pincher mix!). The last is of Livvy with my new kitten, Jack.
They get along very well and enjoy hanging out together when I'm at work.
Livvy also goes to daycare 1-2 times a week while I work.
Talk to you soon.
Vesna Giurgiev
PS - love the new puppies you have. Maybe when I get a house with a yard I will get another!

Thanks again Sue for such a wonderful little girl and all the great info on the breed.  I enjoyed meeting you and our new little "Cayenne" is a great joy.  I don't know if we register her after we get the papers, but her official name is Dragon's Cayenne Kisses.  We still need a middle "your in trouble name", but that will come.  She rode in the crate in the car and slept in the hotel room in the crate very quietly and long.  Now at our home, we got in Sunday, she doesn't like going into the crate at night, so she sleeps at the side of the bed.  Tomorrow will be her first day alone in the house (we're at work) and we'll keep her in the laundry room, but her crate will be in there and open for her.  We love her so much!  She is so much fun and goofy!  When we get a digital camera, we'll email some pics.  Thanks again.
Gwen and Dan Flaherty

Sue,

Mei-Ling had a very good first night at home.  When we picked her up, she wanted to jump right into the blanket that I had in my arms.  She was absolutely precious--such a good temperment!  She gave us all kisses on the way home, and was very alert and interetested in her final destination.  Even though everything was new, she is adapting beautifully.  She slept between us nestled in our bed with her nose on my neck nearly all night long.  She has sniffed around every corner of the house and has just been wonderful!

She also just loves my Mom...she went right to her and acted as if she knew her very well.  It was really special for my Mom.  As soon as I load the pics of her arrival to my computer, I will forward some to you. Thank you again.  We feel so blessed to have her!

Kelly :)

Hi Sue,
Sorry for the delay, but here we are! SuzyQ is dong marvelously! She took right to the dog door, AND Fred, and is he ever delighted with her. She is so sweet and gets along with all her new friends, human and animal alike. Thank you ever so much for bringing her into our lives! I've attached a picture of her and Fred 'conferring'.
I've just replaced my camera patch cord, so we will keep you pictorially posted as she grows. We wish you and Roy and all the Royal Shar-Pei a very Merry Christmas and a better New Year. You have enriched our lives so much.
Guy, Elizabeth and Shawn

Hi Sue!

It's hard to believe it's been another year with Gobi.  Where does time go?

Well, Gobi's 6 this year and doing great.  She has a few gray hairs coming in on her face and between her shoulder blades, but otherwise remains the same spunky, loveable girl she's always been.  The picture is typical of her.  It's hard to get her to look at the camera if there's anything going on around her.  This one was taken at the local lighthouse in Santa Cruz.  She'd had a terrific time romping around, attracting attention and getting pet by kids and adults alike.  Gobi's a hit everywhere she goes.

We discovered something this year that I thought I'd pass along to you.  I have allergies and decided to get an air purifier.  Much to my amazement, all of the water blister-type things that Gobi's had trouble with all her life have completely disappeared!  Evidently, she was allergic to something in the environment.  I know it's a pretty common problem with the breed, so I thought it might be good information to pass along to you.

Well, here's Gobi at six and going strong....            Elizabeth Robertson

I periodically check your website. Your last litter of puppies were gorgeous. I knew it wouldn't be long before they found new homes.

It's been a while since we purchased our shar-pei Simba from you (about 5 years ago). He's doing fine. It's amazing how dogs remind me of children. Each have different personalities. Simba is a really mellow fellow, very independent and proud. He's still as cute as the day we purchased him. He looks so much like his dad Mickle.

Here are some updated photos. Good luck with the breeding program. Hopefully, we'll be able to purchase our next shar-pei from you.

Dear Sue,I just wanted to take a minute to write to thank you for all you do.  We’ve had Buttercup and Blossom for a little over six months now.  As you know we had previously owned a Shar-pei and when she died we had no doubt we wanted another.  Tonee and I tossed the idea around about getting two rather than one for companionship.  You were able to answer all of our questions and concerns before our purchase, which is to be expected.  The pups continue to grow and little things can occasionally pop up and YOU ARE STILL THERE answering all my questions and giving advise, which may or may not be expected from other breeders.
Buttercup and Blossom have the sweetest dispositions noted by my extended family and friends.  Our Vet and his staff just love the girls and can’t help commenting on how friendly and sweet they are. Please keep of the good parenting.
Yours truly,
Tanya and Tonee Hoke

Thank you Tanya, I am so glad your girls are doing well:)

Hopefully you've been doing great! I also like to add what beautiful new puppies you have available. But I still think my Turtle has been the best one you have produced so far. =) LOL.
Well I wanted to write you and let you know that Turtle has been the best thing I have ever invested my money into! He's been great with everyone he meets. Loves the dog parks in Manhattan and has made so many friends from my business trips! Just recently I've been traveling on business from LA to Chicago w/a 3 month stay in each state.
I only agree to these business trips on one condition and that is if I get to stay in a pet friendly hotel. So I've found that all Westin hotels welcome Turtle with open arms! He's been so well traveled which kind of makes me jealous of him. LOL. I always think about the traveling I did when I was younger and I can only think of maybe 1 trip in my life.
I have also enclosed a picture of him at Huntington beach in southern California. I know it's not a full shot of his face but thought artistically it was a great photo. So in return I went to a printing company to make it into a poster. =)
So thank you again and so very much in giving me, which I feel is the best pick of all your litters. =)
Harold

Hi Sue,

sorry I didn't call you back yesterday.

I was so excited to see him, forgot about everything. The minute I opened the cage, he licked my face, he is so sweet and friendly, wiggles his tail all the time and follows me around the house and yard. This morning we went for a walk at 5:00, and I couldn't leave him until the last minute I had to go to work (he stayed at home with my sister and brother-in-law). He doesn't look tired at all and has great appetite.

By the way, we decided to rename him Brutus, and he already turns his head when we call him.

Thank you so much for such a great puppy!! And we'll try to send your cage back as soon as possible, this week for sure.

Natasha

Hello Sue! Be still my heart!  The baby blue shapei puppies are adorable.  I follow your site always.  You two are amazing and Simon is “Simon the Awesome”.
Royal Sharpei, Gisele, is the best dog I have ever owned.  I have owned dogs my entire life, and she stands out as the sweetest, most obedient dog I have ever had the pleasure to live with.  She and Guinness, the English Bull Dog, are still the best of friends.  Gisele is keeping six-year old Guinness young.  Gisele is a very tiny sharpie, just as she was when she lived with you.
Just wanted to say hello and keep in touch.  You two do more for the Sharpei and dog world, and exceed every expectation of what a breeder should be.
Sincerely,
Anne Curtin from Philadelphia

Oh Sue –
Mia is absolutely perfect!!  I think that I have gotten at least a thousand kisses so far.  Mia and Wally have been bonding, chasing each other all through the house and playing.  Mia is the sweetest puppy that I have ever seen.  Thank you so much for allowing me to adopt her.
I’ll make sure to let you know how she does and send you pictures of her as she grows into an adult.

Thanks,Sandie

Hi Sue and Roy....

Just wanted to let you know that our little Bogey is an absolute doll.... he is spoiled rotten.  He sleeps with us and nuzzles up into Jeff's neck when he sleeps.  He goes in the car with us to and from school to pick up the kids.... he is just a delight.  The kids have the best time wrestling on the floor with him.  We just love him!  He had his shots last Friday and the Vet (Dr. Ruth Adams) said that she was quite impressed with him.  Everything looks great!  I gave him his first bath yesterday and he was great with the water....   She wanted us to put him on Science Diet.... but we have abstained and are keeping him on Pedigree.. he loves it.

So.... that is it for now....  just trying to brave the wonderful storm that is bearing down on us at the moment.....

Take care,

Alyson and Jeff

Dear Sue,

I thought it would be fun to send you a few pictures.  After we got "Brutis" my husband thought it would be nice if we got a bigger boat.....since our little family grew.  So that is just what we did.  When we go out fishing now, we are in pure comfort.  Sunggles and Brutis and Jessie ( our choc lab) are one the lakes in the best of style!  22 ft of boat with a enclosed cab

with a heater, and of course, benches that make into a 8ft bed!!  Anyway, as you can tell by the pics that they love going fishing! They ride on the back of the boat like royality with their heads held high!  As soon as Jimmie starts to hook up the boat they are all ready to go!

This Tuesday, 10/28/03, I take Brutis in to be netured.  What do you need from me so that you can send me his papers?  Would it be ok to fax whatever it is to you?  Just let me

know. :)   I keep telling him that he'll be a "SPORTS MODEL" .....just like the rest of us!

Sue, he is such a delight, he came right into our home and made himself one of us!  He and Snuggles & Jessie get along wonderfully!  He has the best loving personality.  Whenever the grandkids come over he is ready to play and get lots of hugs!  This little man follows me wherever I go, it don't matter if it's 3:00 am and I'm getting a drink of water, he's right there with me.    You should see him with my chickens and geese....he is right in with them, sniffing them and making sure they're ok.  The other night I was out getting eggs and he was with me, of course, and one of my hens ran under his belly...he looked around as if to say where did that come from!  He is so gentle with them that they just go about their business.

He is such a proud and happy boy.  Snuggles, my fawn sharpei, and him are soul mates, they sleep together, play together, everything together.  It's like Snuggles is his teacher...

she'll do something, he'll do it, then look at her like he's asking her if he did it right!

I tell everyone about Royal Sharpei, and to get in touch with you!!

                                      Thank you for everything!

                                                            Mickey Ledford

Hello Sue:

I just love this big headed goofy puppy! His name is Manto. He was good all day yesterday, wagging his tail, letting people pet him, and interacting with other dogs in the pet supply store (Petsmart). Of course, everyone he met commented on how cute and well behaved he was.

Last night at bedtime, he seemed to be missing you, Roy and his other playmates- he was whimpering. I put him up on the bed with me and he seemed to settle down. This morning he followed me around with his tail wagging again.

I was so sad when Sho-Pow, my previous pei, died of cancer 2 yrs ago and I have never gotten over it. This goofy guy has made me so happy! I really can't thank you enough. You did a wonderful job raising him. It must have been so hard to let him go!

We are seeing the Vet today to establish his health care and for his Bordetella vaccine.

We will start puppy classes next month.

I will take pictures to send to you soon.

just an update - Mr. Tae went to have his shot last night. Our vet, Dr. Scott Rapp, informed us that he was a very helathy happy well adjusted pup. He has been our vet through two shar pei's so he is familiar with the breed. Check ears also. Clean as a whistle. You did a great job. He is eating about 4 to 5 cups a day. When the bowl is empty we refill. He currently weighs in at 17lbs 3 oz. He is solid and muscular. So far no accidents in the house and has figured how to get up the back steps with no problem.

Thank you again.
Robert and  Kathy

Hi Sue

She is adorable. Snored all night long. So cute.
We took a few long walks this morning and sat on the front steps for about
an hour to watch the birds and check out the surroundings. She now follows
me everywhere I go inside the house, with her tail going all the while. In
fact, as I type this email, she is leaning against my chair and has her
head resting on my leg. Such as sweetheart and a very good girl!

Jen

Hi Sue !

She's doin' great.  She is all better and walking beautifully on her leash (15 minutes tonight).  Her and Guinness are good friends now.  She is an absolute doll.  She has NO accidents but has to be watched because she eats carpeting and cocktail tables.  She is excellent in her crate and hardly ever cries in there.  I will send pictures soon.

Thanks a million for a great little puppy.

Anne

Just thought you would like to see a picture of the little devils holding still in a rare moment. Now known as Ruby and Denver, we could not imagine our family without them. Denver weighs 25 pounds and Ruby is 20. Please use us as references anytime you wish. We could not be happier.

Happy Holidays,
Richard & Robin Buxbaum

Sue,

I just wanted to give you an update on Chloe. She is doing absolutely wonderful. Mitzi (my wife) and I are just amazed at how personable she is. My face has been licked more in the last two days than in the four years I have had shar-pei. Everywhere we go in the house she follows us. She likes to be held and she is sleeping in the bed with us at night. She enjoys chasing her sisters around the house. We have noticed that her tail is constantly wagging. She is such a sweetheart. Once again, thank you for everything. I will keep you updated as she grows.

Charles

HI SUE

Just want to let you know that Miss Genesis is adjusting beautifully!! She sure is trained! We take her out every few hours thru the sliding doors. She loves taking naps by the sliding door where the sun shines on her face. She's very very good! Everyone so surprised at how well she let's us know when she needs to go out. And she's sooo beautiful. I love her color and her personality. and so and so on... I could write forever.. we'll send pictures soon.

Thanks to you and Grandpa Roy, what could have been a nightmare purchasing a pup thru the internet turned out to be a pleasant and easy and smooth purchase experience. Thank you for your honesty and advice and making all the arrangments very convenient to Jeff and I. I hope you don't mind that we call you from time to time.

Take care and God bless you both.
Agnes , Jeff & Gen

Sue,

Cali has adjusted so well it is incredible to think we have had her only a

month, it seems so much longer, like she has always been here.

When we first picked her up from the airport and brought her home we

thought it would take some time before she would grow close to us, not the

case at all.  In fact, Cali is just a little lover, likes to snuggle and be

stroked.  She is so well mannered and house trained, we have had absolutely

no accidents with the exception of us giving them way too much water while

playing and that was our fault. Cali and Cowboy(11mth shar pei) are like

brother and sister, always at each other side and always playing. Cowboy

even shares his toys, unfortunately, the chew bones are a different story,

ha ha ha ha.

When she first arrived Cali seemed a little shy and scared, we took her

into the back yard and left her on her own to explore and try to feel

comfortable.  Cowboy of course caught wind and caused such a ruckus, that

we had to let them see each other.  They have been great ever since.  I

also have a 8mth old son, Skyler, who she is just great with.  Whenever my

son is on the floor crawling around Cali is there wagging her tail and

being very gentle towards him.  She has won over our hearts and is a

wonderful addition to our family.  By the way she is doing a great job at

watching over us, Shar Pei's make wonderful watch dogs.

I have to admit we were a little hesitant in wanting an older puppy, but I

must say it was the best move we ever made.  She made it so easy on us that

it was like we always had her.  Both my husband and I work full-time and

our dogs are left in the house all day and I must say it was no problem

working her into our schedule, she adapted very well.

Sue, I hope I helped you with a summary of what it was like for us and our

new pup.  I mean ever word of it, Cali is great and I just lover to death.

She is such a sweetie, it is so hard not to give a little kiss every time I

pass her.

Talk to you soon,

Katya

Hi! Sue, Just a quick note to say hello and give you an update on our boy.

He's growing like a weed! He weighed 14 lbs. aleady when we took him to the

vet. He goes again in three weeks, for shots, I think. The vet said he's the

cutest Shar Pei he's seen. Of course, we already know that! Ripley is spoiled

rotten! He loves to play chase with our grandson and he loves to go for our

evening walk. He sees that leash and his tail starts wagging. I'm really

surprised how well he does on the leash to be so young. As for bedtime, he's

claimed the spot at the foot of our bed and he had to have his own pillow. We

want to thank you for helping us to purchase him. He has brought so much joy

and fun to us. We still miss Wrinkles but I know he's smiling in heaven that

we have this little guy to love now. Well, I won't keep you, just wanted to

give you an update. I'll keep you posted from time to time. Thanks again,

Barb and Armon

Hi Sue,

I was just thinking about getting all of my Christmas decorations out this

weekend!! I'm looking forward to Louie's reaction to the sights and sounds

of Christmas. He's so funny, he's at the stage where he cocks his head to

the side a lot when you talk to him or he hears/sees something new and

different. I love him so much!! I took him and Sebastian (the cat) to get

their pictures made with Santa a couple of weeks ago. I'm picking it up

tonight and can't wait to see it. I'll forward a copy if it turns out to be

pretty good. Thanks for the reminder that puppies will be puppies, however,

I think Louie will be a good boy. He always is!!! We're going to go to

obedience school next month. I'm looking forward to it. He's so smart that I

know he'll learn quickly and do really well. He just needs a little work on

come and stay. He gets distracted a lot when we're out walking, but it's

truly an endearing quality, as you can see in his reactions that he is

simply fascinated with everything around him. I wish I could explain just

how much we love him.

Merry Christmas to you and yours....

Kathy

Hi Sue,

Thought I'd let you know how we made out this weekend.  Kirby is an absolute

angel.  She was so good - 100 times better than we could have possibly

expected.  She was great in the hotel and no problem in the plane - she just

slept all the way home.  She is so affectionate and sweet.  She has adjusted

well to her new home full of toys and she already has her spot on our bed.

John is working late hours for the next couple of weeks so that will work

well.  In the afternoon I will go home and get her and bring her in the

office.  I'm the boss here so I can get away with it.  Besides, my

co-workers have been bonding with her over the internet as well.  When I'm

traveling Grandma has offered to baby-sit.  She has a Scottie and a brand

new kitten.

We can't thank you enough.  We were ready to have another and she is

perfect!  I'll send pictures soon.

Karen

We love her!!  She has been fine, she slept most of Sunday...jetlag caught up

with her plus we did alot of visiting on Sat.  She cries at night when we put

her in the cage, but she soon falls asleep.  She is incredibly friendly and

affectionate.  Wev'e already talked about getting another one next year.  Her

name is Saki. I mailed out the contract today.  We v'e received many many

compliments from our friends and family.  Everyone is offering to babysit.

Will send pictures.

Hi Sue:

It was nice to meet you and Roy

Rambo has been at my side since you dropped him off.  He made it through the night without any accidents in the room.  He went out once in the middle fo

the night and that was it.

He went in the morning before his big airplane adventure.  He was in the bag

very little.  From Portland to Cinncinati he sat in an empty seat next to me

the entire way.  The flight crew loved him!  Then he was in the bag during

the lay over in Cinci for about 30 minutes, then in the plane seat next to me

from cinci to Clevalnd.  He sat in the front seat of the car all the way

home.  We stopped as soon as we left the airport and he did his business in

the snow.  Boy does he have goodholding power.

Now we are home, he is exploring.  He has not eaten, but he is sure following

me around.  Right now, he finally feel asleep at my feet under the computer.

He seems happy, and I am very happy.

Once again, thank you for everything.  Tell Roy thanks also, I know he is a

big help!

Peace

Bill Heckler

Sue,

This puppy is absolutely adorable and nothing could be sweeter.  My husband

thinks he is god's little gift.

So far Nelson but not sure, Jim likes Niko.  He is housebroke and gets along

with Marco and my german shorthair dropout great.  The Lab and Hound want nothing to do with him.  He  is eating, drinking water and adjusting just

great to his new home.  A few days and it will be like he has been here

forever.  Thank you so much as we don't think he is ugly at all.

Nancy

Sue,

Thanks so much for the wonderful addition to our home!  Silly is sniffing up

a storm all around the house and tolerating Maxwell's hyperactive initial

response well.

We will keep sending you pictures as she adjusts to her new home.  She slept

all last night in our room on the floor and eventually she should find the

bed we have for her.  We are downstairs in our computer room right now and

she is laying down behind us all relaxed as Maxwell is standing there not

knowing what to do.  Thank God she has such a good demeanor to be able to put up with the initial response of Maxwell.  If they were both hyper like Max,

it would certainly be more of a challenge!

Here are a couple of pictures.  An added bonus is that Silly's birthday is

the same as Joy's Grandmother who is deceased.  Maybe a good sign!

Take Care Sue and thanks again.  We will keep in touch.

Bob & Joy

Sue,

Buster arrived safe and sound! He's absolutely adorable!  He's already found

his way into our hearts!  He's very smart, as you decribed, and learns

quickly!  It's been a very long time since I had a pup.  I now know the

meaning of "follows you around like a little puppy!"   Rich has been walking

Buster on a leach -- correction, Buster has been walking Rich on the leash!

all around our property.  We have an acre (which we're getting ready to

fence the back yard), and live next to a dairy farm!  Already the cows are

curious about this cute little bundle!  He was reluctant to go to sleep at

first, but then finally gave in and slept/snored the full night!!  He's

still a little tired, but already is curious about everthying!  By the

tomorrow, he'll probably be at full speed!  We love him and are thrilled to

have him!

Oops-- didn't finish the message --

Wanted to express our appreciation at your professional and caring manner in

which everything has been handled. You've done a sensational job -- we're

very impressed.  The evidence is truly in this very special and

well-adjusted animal.  He's just precious -- we will take very good care of

him -- and will give updates on his progress.  Rich will give you an update

following the vet visit.

At any rate, take care --

Deb, Rich and Buster Hillringhouse

Just a short note to let you know that  Boomer is doing great.. he saw the

vet 2 days ago and he was impressed.. cuz for one thing he thinks that

sharpies are not the breed of choice.

he thinks he is very sound and is a cute guy all around. he is a bit

headstrong though, so I have to play alph-bitch to him..he sleeps right next

to me at night and has a bed right next to my computer station. basically he

is always by my side. I took a bath today and he was howling and barking at

me.. so cute I can't stand it..Gee does it sound like I love this guy?  he is

to get neutered on the 25th.

A satisfied sharpie owner... Katee..

Sue,

Just a "quickie" note to let you know how things are going.

Ginger turned 5 months just the other day and she's still the light of

our lives.  I didn't think there was a possibility that we could replace

Lady but this one has really worked wonders.

We were gone for a week and we left her with my Mom & Dad and they

didn't want to give her back.  I thought I was going to have to call out

the militia for some help.

Just a quick question, What are your thoughts on getting her a

"companion" such as another female from Royal?

Just curious.

Jerry & Gayle Levingston

Hi Sue -

Just wanted to let you know we made it home safe and sound with our new

little bundle of joy.  He is absolutely gorgeous - you were so right!  And so

smart.  And sooooo laid back - slept nearly all the way home.  We stopped

once in the Dalles for him to stretch and get a drink of water and then it

was back in the truck and back to sleep.  He's going to be a good traveller.

And, he's already housebroke - what a pleasure!

You really have done wonderful things with the breed.  Thank you for letting

us take him to love.  We will keep you posted as to how he does.  Roy told me you have your own recipe for ear cleaner using tea tree oil - would you share it with me?  That is, if you think it advisable for me to use it over the

Vet.'s suggestions.

Hi Sue,

All is well in the " Land of Spoil Your Dog".  What a guy!  He is really

doing well and everyone loves him.  The Vet says that he is perfect,

perfect, and perfect.  Of course we are a little prejudice.  We were out in

your neck of the woods this Sunday and almost dropped by, but hated to do

so without a warning.  Are all of B.J.'s litter-mates in happy homes?  I

will send you a picture soon.  Thank you again Sue.

Please let us Know when you might be showing your dogs soon.

Our best,

Mike and Sidsel

Hi Sue -

Thought you might want to see what this little guy is looking like these

days.  As you will note - he has turned into quite a "couch potato!"  You

can't see it on the pictures but he's turning slightly brown along his

shoulders.  Really pretty colors.  We love him so much - can't even imagine

what it was like here without him.  He is such a joy and so very smart.  And

what a sweet personality.  One of the pictures I'm sending shows his ramp.  A

friend of ours built it for him because the doggie door was too high off the

patio for the little guy.  The Tu-Man (that's his name) learned to use the

doggie door and ramp the very first day.  Most of the time he slides down on

his belly, and hits the patio on a dead run!

We've had him to see Dr. Benson for a booster and check up and all is well.

Thanks again, Sue.  Will keep in touch with further pictures as he grows.

Did I mention he now weighs 23 pounds.  Well, that was yesterday - could be

more today!

Regards,

Annie Gust

Hi Sue - I just wanted you to know how wonderful "Rocky" is doing.  (We live on Rock Creek Road and with his charming good looks Jessica named him Rocky.)

He has adjusted very well.  So far - no accidents - although we understand he is still a baby and that it is always  a possibility.    He is eating and drinking well and he is scheduled for a well puppy visit with our vet this afternoon.  I will let you know how that goes.

One thing I will be having to do is placing him on some sort of flea prevention as well as heartworm prevention (for which he may not be old enough - its been a while.)  Do you have any recommendations?

I am also looking for  a good shampoo - do you use any that is better for his skin?

Rocky has really taken to the two rope toys Jessica bought him.  He likes to carry them around like he has a prize.

I know Jessica told you about Chris - our Siamese cat.  The two of them have become very good friends as long as Rocky stops playing when Chris says to.  At that point she will swat (no claws - she's totally an indoor cat) and he will walk away like his feelings are hurt.  Once he realizes she doesn't  have any punch to her paw that will be all she wrote - Chris will no longer rule.  They are good for each other - lots of company.

My husband told me I ought to get another puppy as much as we love Rocky.  We'll see - its not like we don't have enough room.

Thanks for your help with these questions and any other suggestions you have.  Hope all is well and I will talk to you soon.

Sincerely - Alison

I just wanted to say Thank You so Much!  It means the workd to me that you

would take the time to help me understand the life of a Shar-pei.  :)  It

makes the love you have for dogs just warm me inside.  It's such a special

thing to see someone love there pets so much!  If only everyone would care

for there pets as you do!!  :)

Hello Sue

How are you doing? We are doing good!  David and I are keeping very busy!

: )  Tapanga is a great puppy!  She has been really great about going to the

bathroom outside or if we don't catch her in time she does go on the puppy

training pads that we have for her.  She plays so much and them shes out

sound a sleep.  She likes to chew on everything she has a couple Nylabones

that she loves and some balls and chew toys!  We got her a kennel cage and

the kennel fencing to give a variety.  She yaps and barks the first couple

minutes and then she will relax a little.  She loves to go on car rides with

us!  We are so happy with her.  We can't wait for her to have all her shots

so we can take her to parks and so forth.  Thank You again, for the wonderful

puppy!  We would trade her for anything in the world! : )

Dear Sue -

I can't tell you how happy we are with the new addition to our family.  Winston is the sweetest puppy we've ever had.  He loves everyone, and everyone loves him.  Going out with him is like going out with a celebrity.  People surround him, and he is perfectly composed and charming.  As you said, he kisses everyone.  A young black woman told me that he was the first white person's dog who ever kissed her.  She was delighted, and so were we.

He's adjusting well to his new home.  After a few days of trepidation about the huge mound of snow, he now seeks them out and sits on top of the largest ones surveying his domain.  We have a herd of twelve deer who come every day to feed in our yard, not more than ten or twenty feet from the dog run. Winston sits out there like a statue, not making a sound, but taking in everything.  I've taught him the word "deer", and when he hears it he wants to go outside.

He's getting along well with our cat, Mr. Puppy.  He can pin him easily, but they seem to enjoy wrestling.  Mr. Puppy swats at him frequently, but doesn't use his claws.  Eventually, I think they'll be great friends.

The only thing he has balked at so far is taking a walk on the leash.  Today we got him to go all the way out to the mailbox - a major accomplishment.

He went to the vet on Friday for his shot.  He was a perfect angel, kissing everyone in the office.  We had had him out all morning before he went, and he was so tired he fell asleep on the examining table.  He started heartworm medicine, but our vet prefers to wait until six months to neuter males.  He removed the stitches from his eyelids, and all seems well so far.  He woke up in time to give the vet a hearty kiss goodbye.

The pictures I've taken of him so far haven't come out as well as I'd like, but as soon as I get some good ones I'll send them to you.

Thank you so much for this tremendous puppy.

Mary Lou Webster

Just wanted to let you know things are going very well.  Oliver has settled

in quickly.  We have our second puppy class tonight and I may be biased but

I think he is the cutest and smartest!  He has already learned sit and is

making great improvements in walking on a leash.  He went to the vet and he

has all of his shots now.  We will bring him back in about a month to get

neutered.  The vet liked him a lot and remarked on what a good breeder you

were.  He was impressed that all his shots were given when they were

suppose to be and also thought he was very cute.  We are taking him on his

first road trip on Saturday.  This weekend we are going to Gabe's dad's

house and taking the dogs with.  He lives up north and has a lot of land

for them to play and run.  He still needs to get use to his kennel and we

are working on this.  The only time we kennel him is when we are at work.

At night he sleeps in bed with all of us.  It is very cozy.  Once he gets

over his chewing and we can trust him we will get rid of the kennel.  We

got a much bigger one so he is comfortable and will accommodate his size as

he is growing fast.  He and Lady have became very good friends.  They are

together all the time and Oliver loves to snuggle with her.  I have some

pictures of the two of them together and will send them to you when I get

some with Gabe and I also.  Just wanted you to know he is doing great!

Sue,

Sorry I haven't responded earlier, but my new babies are

keeping me very busy. I took a few days off from work to get

them adjusted to their new home,  so I didn't get my e-mails

right away. They are doing great! My baby boy, Pocono,  just

learn to climb up and down stairs yesterday and Charlotte,

well, she is like a little rubberband, bounding all over the

place, I swear she is made of rubber. Anyway, I love them to

death!! and they seem to be getting more comfortable everyday.

Don't worry I will be sending your crate back, but can you just

give me a couple of days. Charlotte has been sleeping in it

during the day in the kitchen and I want to get her something

else to sleep in before I take it away from her. I will be

sending you pictures periodically so you can see how they grow.

Thanks so much for my beautiful babies,

Lenita

Hi sue,   We're in LOVE!  He is such a good boy! Our ride home was about

2 hours, we stopped and Newman got out to pee&Poop. He has settled in

quite nicely! He is such a happy little bugger. He kisses me every time

I pick him up. He slept all night in his crate with no problem. Steve

was worried to leave him alone in the crate in our family room all by

himself so he slept on the couch. Newman slept all night. Steve on the

other hand woke quite a few times to Newmans snoring HAHA!! Casey keeps

him very active with play. I have about 10 doggie toys and he is just

like a little kid. He has played with all of them. We already used a

roll of film on him and the kids. What can I say except thank you for

trusting me and your heart in allowing us to love him.  Stephanie

Sue,

Just wanted to let you know how our puppy is doing - GREAT!  She

has loads of personality..and is smarter than she needs to be.  We

finished at the top of her obedience class..she missed one class - the

first one..and her hind legs were shaking when we entered the ring for

her first class, but she quickly calmed down and did exactly what she

was asked to do.  I was amazed..so was everyone else when at the last

class the instructor said "that is the way you want your dog working".

Glad she didn't know - since Jim has been sick - we didn't get a chance

to practice, only when we were at class.  She is pretty special.

We're going to go for the next class soon..I'll let you know how she

does.  If all goes well, we'll have to go into some real classes and see

what happens.  Oh, also, I wanted to let you know, she is registered as

Royals Expecting Mugs&Kisses.

Gotta run - she's barking to come in.

Barbara

Hello Sue, I just told my daughter I had to come to the computer to e-you. King Luie is under my chair as we speak giving my shoe string the what for! We have offically fallen in love. My middle son was here as soon as I called him. My mom had been calling to see if we were back yet. At first I didn't think we'd make that flight it was very full. They had already booked me on another flight through Chicago. So Luie and I were just sitting getting to know one another, and the agent called someone who didn't answer. So he called me. We took the last seat! We were home about 5:30 p.m.

King Luie has been to visit my mom and grandmom. My oldest son just called and said he was coming to meet the King. Look out Elvis, Luie is about to take St. Louis by storm! You know we were about to take over Portlands airport. I was doing a sell on Royal. Even the National Guard man wanted to take Luie! He said he wanted a Shar Pei now.

Luie has went and got in my daughter's lap. He's so tired. He's slept in my mom's lap. Got in bed with my granny. He's winning everyone over quickly.

Thank you so much!!! I just can't tell you how King Luie has brightened up our lives here.

     Lisa

Oh; you and Roy were both as wonderful as I knew you'd be!!!!!!!!!

Lisa

Hello Sue,

I'm hoping this e-mail finds you and Roy both well. We are all good in the Mid-West. That includes "King Luie". King Luie is so much fun. There is never a dull moment around here! My home was lively anyway, but the King makes it even more!

He goes everywhere that's possible with us. Everyone knows King Luie. I tell King Luie stories at work. My co-workers will pass me and ask, how's King Luie doing?" Not how I'm doing, but King Luie. My son's both come over just to visit him. He has more company that us now!! My oldest son says he dreams about King Luie all the time, and just has to come and see him. He's growing so fast. Just as you said.

When I take him to the vet; a nurse or doctor is always coming to get him and show him off somewhere. They don't let me caring him to the back; they want to do that part. When I take him to Pet's Mart I can't even get in the front door. I had him micro chipped just because he's getting so popular. I don't want someone to steal him from me. Right now he's so friendly. Not that I want him to be mean; just a little more apprehensive.

Well I just wanted to give you a "King Luie" report; and tell you how much he's loved. I did make the right choice!!

                                 Thank You, Lisa

Sue:

Just wanted to let you know that Slyder is adjusting well.  He is great.  He has already become my shadow.  My parents fell in love with him.  He is laying next to me as I type this email.
Last night he was a little restless with all of the new sounds.  But, so far he hasn't gone potty in the house.  Slyder accomplished the task of the climbing up and down the stairs this morning.  I've been taking pictures, so hopefully they will turn out and I can forward some of them to you.  We will keep you posted on new events.
Thanks again for letting us take care of him and love him.  He is a character.

Denise

Our puppy is here safe and sound. What a beautiful little guy he is. He is even cuter in real life. He was a little scared (shaking) at first, but now he is calm and even ate some dinner. Actually, he is fast asleep in his new home. I bought a nice kennel for him and he went right in on his own and laid down and went to sleep.

I also talked to my vet today and he claims that he is very familiar with Shar-pei's and said that he would also listened to any advice that is offered to him. I explained to him yours (& mine) concerns and he said that he understood and would do a great job. I feel really comfortable with him and as I said before, he has been my vet for 15 years. I have set up his first appointment for next Friday to get his shots.

Thanks again for everything. I can't even express how happy I am. He is absolutely adorable! I still can't think of a name yet, but maybe by tomorrow something will click. What is his registered name?

Have a Happy New Year! And as promised, I will keep you informed with any concerns!

Keri

Dear Sue & Roy,

I just wanted to write to say that we couldn’t be any happier with our little “Baxter”. After the first couple of weeks of settling in for all of us, Baxter has been the joy of our lives. He is 100% potty trained (and no longer sleeps in the kennel), he sits when asked, he lays down when asked, and shakes your hand. We are working on the rollover thing and he has almost mastered that too! I have never been around a puppy as smart as Baxter. He loves to play hard and in turn, likes to sleep hard. Believe it or not, he doesn’t even mind getting his ears cleaned.

Thank you so much for caring enough for the Shar-pei breed to produce such wonderful pets. As I have spoken with lots of different breeders and people in general, most have tried to tell me that Shar-pei’s are full of problems and to stay clear. Granted, we have only had Baxter for a few weeks and do not know what the future holds, either way, our trust in you as a knowledgeable, professional, fine tuned breeder gives us all the confidence in the world.  Thanks again and maybe someday in the near future we can visit your ten acres of heaven!
Sincerely,
Keri Thurston

Hi...

I just wanted to let you know that everything is going great with Tapanga and

Daisy.  They love to chase each other and play with each other.  I am so

happy that they enjoy each others company.  It's so cute when Tapanga comes

in from begining in the back yard she comes running through the house looking

in every room until she finds Daisy!!  I have pictures that I will be mailing

out to you this weekend!  Thank you again for the great pups!!

Sincerly, Yvonne Turner

Hi Sue,

I wanted to tell you last night was the best night so far, David and I were sitting on the couch, when Tapanga and Daisy came running down the hall way with each other and they both had a ball in there mouth and they would drop them and switch and then run back down the hall.  When I got home from work yesterday they both went into the back yard and went peepee and it was so cute because they were right next to each other and both of them were looking at me to see were I was going.  Daisy does great at night she sleeps in the kennel as Tapanga sleeps at the foot of our bed but since Daisy has arrived she likes sleeping on a dog pillow right by her kennel.  This morning they were playing Tapanga would run by Daisy and drop her bone in front of her to see if Dasiy would go for it and then pick it up and run so that Daisy would chase her.  On saturday we are taking Daisy in for her current shots.  Daisy is a bully at times to Tapanga, the other day I walked into the living room Tapanga was on the couch (that wh

ere she goes so Daisy can't get her) and Daisy had a hold of Tapanga's tail hanging off the side of the couch, and Tapanga doesn't do anything to make her stop.  I feel bad for Tapanga, I am sure she will let Daisy know when she crosses the line.  = ) Thats the update, thanks again for such great kids!! I sent pictures in the mail yesterday!!

Hi Sue,

Just wanted to give you an update on how Ginger is doing..  We followed your tips, and now she is eating and drinking from her bowls!  She seems to be more comfortable also, getting to know 5 people in the household could be a little confusing, but she is very smart.  She also climbed up the stairs yesterday!  Now we just have to work on getting her down, but we are so amazed on how quickly she's starting to get around on her own.  :)

She is very gentle with the kids.  When they play, she runs with them, but she stops when they stop, and she so far she hasn't jumped on them.

Her skills on potty-training is so wonderful!  We take her our 1-2 times before bedtime and she actually sleeps at the same schedule as the kids.  :)  I take her out early AM before I go to work and she's so "lazy" getting up!  She is a star in our family!

Thanks for matching her up with us... and we will have pictures this weekend!  I'm sure to keep emailing with questions as she grows up!!  Thanks for being so helpful!

Hi Sue,

Thanks again so much for our little man.  He is the sweetest thing that I have ever seen.  He did really well last night.  He slept through most of the night on his pillow.  You were so right by the way.  The crate was not an option last night, he had had enough.  He is really good at going to the slider to the back yard and has no problem going potty outside.  We can not say enough about him.  What ever you guys are doing over there with these pups just keep up the great work.  If we have any more questions we will be sure to call.

Thanks again.  Matt and Laura Trezza

Hi Sue,

Wow!  What a fun 3 months we've had with the new baby!  Baby "Thor" (or should we say "Four".....I'll tell you why later!) has been so fun and has erased years and years off of our dogs lives (Pudley, Sharpei and Red, Poodle...both 9 years old)!  It seems like a constant party at our house.  We used to have 5 or 6 toys for our kids to play with....now there has to be 50 different stuffed animals, balls, ropes etc. etc. EVERYWHERE we look and walk around the house!  Of course, Baby Thor thinks if he doesn't have a toy in his mouth at all times,  the other boys might just out do him!   Thor and Pudley do this grizzly bear routine that is hilarious to watch....then Thor and Red, "french kiss" allllllllllllll the time!  They are all the best of buddies...and hate when they are apart for just a minute!

Thor quickly picked up on the bathroom routines of Pudley and Red....instead of going right outside the door, having to touch that deep white snow stuff all by himself, he decided he wanted to be a "big boy" and run to the big field next door with the big boys!  He would follow them do all his "business" in the allotted time, and come right back for a big boy treat!  He feels lost when Tom or I take him outside without the other "kids".

His sleeping habits are just hilarious!  He has to sleep in between Tom and I.....and OH DOES HE SNORE!!!  One night he was stretching his legs and kicked Tom in the side of the mouth (accidentally!) and knocked out a filling!  Most mornings he wakes up with his head on my neck or next to me on my pillow.  But, for the past 3 weeks, he has been waking up at 4:05am, 4:10am, 4:39am etc. etc......so I've been calling him "Baby FOUR"!!....as in FOUR AM IN THE MORNING!!  Oh well, getting to work a bit earlier than usual.  And, he meets me at the door when I get off work and won't quit hugging and kissin me!

Baby Thor has also had a couple trips to the Beauty Parlor with the boys.  He loves the bathes with Pudley.....and the dryer cage, now that's fun!  Our vet (same building the beauty parlor is in) loves Thor and after her first check of him, says that he is the best breed she's seen so far!  There are only 3 other Shar Pei's in Jackson Hole and their dad is a local Sheriff.  He came to our house to see Baby Thor and told us, if we ever wanted to get rid of Thor, he wants him bad!  Well, we set him straight....our kids are FOREVER!!!

Well, when I get a chance again, I'll write.  Thanks again for allowing us to enjoy one of your kids....as a member of our family.  We just can't get enough of him!!  We've attached some pics....enjoy!!!!

Tom and Linda Tremelling

Hi Miles arrived safe and sound. HE IS ADORABLE!! He running around looking at everything just wagging his tail. The only thing he is not looking at is his toys.We are calling him Miles because he had to come so far to live with us. He is even cuter then his picture. THANKS Rita & Steve

In May, during our move to Cody, we would bring the kids with us on our trips.  While we were unpacking, Pudley and Red were very busy showing Baby Thor around the property.  We own a home that sits on a very landscape-mature acre in town....so lots of trees, and green grass to roam.  Baby Thor loves the place!  He just runs and runs and runs.....loves to stretch his legs!  He is still smaller than Pudley, but he weighs more....it's that muscular solid good breed of his!  We have our nightly walks and Thor is constantly receiving compliments from passerbyers, about how beautiful he looks!  We are extremely proud of him, because he is so good natured and very polite.  He does love to lick and kiss, but we enjoy that, because Pudley (our 9yr old Sharpei) never has licked or kissed us.   He's just loving the balls, squeaky toys and the constant playing, playing, playing with our poodle Red!  Thor has a fun playing voice with our older Shar Pei....they talk and talk and talk....then when they've finished, Thor licks Pudley all over his face, ears....as to say, "you are my new daddy"!  He still sleeps between Tom and I, but we love it, 'cause he is such a snuggler!

We just thoroughly enjoy Thor and he's been a super addition to our family!  Thanks again and we'll keep in close touch and let you know how Pudley fairs over the next year.

Take care,

Tom and Linda Tremelling

Hi Sue,

Bailley is adorable and wonderful!!!!! I think she is smarter and more inquisitive than both our males have been...she's definately keeping us on our toes!!! We have loads of toys and she has been taking advantage of those!!! Duncann and she seem to have bonded...they are now horse playing with each other!! Duncann watches her and waits until she wants to play, and they play chase from one end of our backyard to the other. She uses her paws incessively in her communications with us and with Duncann. And she is very vocal!!!!

She has had a couple of very busy weeks since her arrival. We took her and Duncann to Bob's mom's house where they were very well behaved, even around her cat!! The next weekend we all went to my parent's house in Big Bear. They have an 8 mo. Shitsu puppy who has left her scent all over their house...I was nervous about Bailley sniffing and going in their house...not a hint of trouble!!! Our 3 mo. puppy is house trained and their 8 mo puppy is NOT !!! All 3 of our shar-peis have been above reproach in the toileting area. Bailley showed their pup a thing or 3!!! We took both our furry friends on the lake in a neighbor's boat...I held Bailley almost the whole time, she did not know what to make of the boat!!! I was hoping that the two puppys would play together...but their Missy was overwhelmed by Bailley , even though Duncann is skiddish of Missy!!!
Bailley is doing very well, eating good, sleeping through the night without needing to go out, no accidents in the house, very lovable and kissy. She slept with Pyan for the first week, in his bed and on the floor in the livingroom on his quilt!!! One morning when he typically would be gone by 6:30 AM, he was still at the house at 8:30. When asked why, he said that the puppy was still sleeping and he did'nt want to wake her!!! The puppy RULES!!!! We LOVE her...but I think we did before we even saw her!!!
Beaugart shouldn't have gone so soon. Bailley has definately given Duncann back his spark...he is happy again!! Thanks so much for everything and we will love and take good care of Bailley...we already are cued in on her next shot!! I will talk again soon. Very Sincerely, Cathy

Sue:
I wanted to share a picture of Budha and Madeline and give you an update on our puppy.  The two of them are great friends, chasing each other around and as you can see she is "helping" him eat his dinner.  He has been to the vet and everything is wonderful.  The vet is really knowlegable about Shar Pei's and has 2 of his own.  Dr. Downes (I emailed you the info on this vet a while ago) thinks that Buddha is a really great dog and healthy is every way.

I can't tell you how much we love this little puppy already.  He has fit right in with our family as though he has always been here.  No doubt he has the best temperament of any puppy we have had, you have done a wonderful job in your breeding and the vet (actually his entire staff) kept commenting on his sweet nature.  Everywhere we take him, people go crazy for not only his adorable looks but his sweet temperament.  He is particularly interested in children and as you can see from the picture, he and Maddie share their food and their toys.  Thank you so much for this little guy, we love him to death.  Some day I hope we can buy another pup so Buddha can have a buddy.
